McKay (Annie) is born in Beaverton, Canada.
July 29, 1867
Annie McKay graduates from the Woman’s Hospital of New York and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Nursing School, and becomes the first school nurse in the U.S. in 1905.* She lives at 1521 Washington Street (1921). McKay goes on to work with tuberculosis patients in Boston hospitals, serves in the Red Cross in Europe during World War I, and dies in her hometown of Beaverton, Ontario in 1944.
